location of this hotel is the best for us since we drove to Assisi, and as soon as you entered the town, the hotel is just right there. It has a parking that you can reserve beforehand (which is rare in this area) and big Assisi church is walking distance with not so high steep climb. Later on we found out that Assisi’s streets are not easy to walk because parallel roads are connected by steep stairs or climb, so to visit the other side of churches, we even brought a car and parked at paid parking. Hotel staff explained very well to go out of Assisi first then go in again to enter the other side, and park at this parking lot that is connected to an elevator to see other churches. So we were lost and use of elevator was really a big help even we are not so old, nor we had small children yet climbing takes time if it is that steep. Breakfast was good and had everything we wanted. View from our hotel rooms (both on 2nd floor and 3rd floor) were so beautiful (I think all the rooms are facing the beautiful valley) and staff were always so helpful with nice smile. If I come back to Assisi, I’d stay here again. (Near by towns are just too far and I didn’t see any public transportation except at the opposite side which is very far to Assisi church. As much as possible it is better to stay near Assisi church, not the side, in my opinion. )

I picked the hotel Giotto because they offered a parking for a fee. The lady who greet us as we arrived was very kind and respectful and she let us to leave the car for a few more hours even after we checked out. The location is excellent as it is between our ultimate destination, Basilica di San Francesco, and the city center. Also the hotel boasts of the fantastic panoramic view from its terrace. My stay at Assisi was very impressive beyond this hotel. The whole town was preparing some kind of festival for Spring and festival people marched drumming every isles of town. The weather was perfect, the food was good and the people are so kind! I love to return to Assisi and to Hotel Giotto.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, just a short walk to the Basilica of Saint Francis, and surrounded by shops and restaurants. The view from our room was amazing!! When we left the hotel we realized we had left a jacket in the closet. We called the hotel and Victor diligently located the jacket, stored it for me, and gave me the information of a shipping company to organize the shipment. Fantastic experience with a really kind and diligent member of the Giotto Hotel team. My big Thanks to Victor and the Giotto Hotel!

The location was inside the city wall, so you have the option to wander around late of the day or early in the morning without most of the tourists. This was the most I enjoyed. The location is on the lower/west end of the town, so to go to most of the restaurants you need to walk uphill. The breakfast was amazing. Good fresh fruit choices, fresh squeezed orange juice, etc. The scrambled eggs were the best. The balcony/breakfast area has an amazing view. The staff was friendly. The valet parking was convenient.

The view from our room was so amazing. With the door that opens and a terrace to view the Umbrian countryside, it made the first visit to Assisi wonderful. This is clearly more than a hotel but an upscale experience close to all that Assisi has to offer. The staff at every area were helpful, cheerful and well knowledgeable about the entire area.
